Eric Koston: OFF THE GRID In Silver Lake...

So, this is Eric Koston's video part for the Berrics "Off The Grid" series. In this episode Eric's dart lands in Silver Lake, which is where I spent the majority of mai last day of vacation, yesterdei, Mondei, December 26th.
Okay, well, Echo Park.
They're very close, and similar

We czech'd out soem kewl shops in the area, we ate at Pho Cafe, then parked and walked to Origami Vinyl, Out Of The Closet, and then to Brite Spot for a much hyped Brownie Sundae that lived up to said hype...
I love LA.

Do Amazing Things...

So, this is a little excerpt from a much larger story found at Zen Habits about how to take criticism, turn it around into a positive life lesson in become a stronger willed individual.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Entraterrestrial" by The Shamen from the album "Arbor Bona. Arbor Mala." released in 1995 as a special limited edition 2nd disc to the album "Axis Mutatis.

Obama The Anti-Christ...

So, lately I;ve been hearing a lot of people say that Obama is the anti-christ.
Is this just a kewl bandwagon thing to say?
Because, I know that I've heard it said before, but, I mean, lately it just seems to be rampant on the Intertron®.

If you know why this may be, please share your theory in the comments sections, I welcome them.
Did he go back on his promise about not signing the "Police State" bill?

My Daddy PWND You...

So, who doesn't love kids, especially ones that call you out while wearing a Thomas the train shirt.?

The Chicago Hot Dog, What A Stupid Rule..,

So, this is the most lamest rule of food I have ever come across and I will, at any chance, do it just to piss people off.
There are soem theories as to why this is the lamest...

1) All the vegetables and ish are already on there (tomato) so you don't need Ketchup [catsup] on your gross hot dog, you fat fuck.

2) Everybody kept taking all the Ketchup [catsup] packets, places were losing money, so they started charging for the packets anywhere from 25¢ to 50¢ per packet so then people just started eating the gross hot dogs w/o Ketchup [catsup].

3) It's okay for kids to put it on their hot dogs up until the age of 10.

Lameness all around, It's a fucking Hot Dog, eat it however the fuck you want. Raw, Uncooked, w/Tabasco, w/Cool Whip®, Dipped in a Milk Shake, Ketchup & Relish, Shrek's green Ketchup and Easy Cheese, or even Slathered in Bacon Grease & Brown Sugar.

It's food, there are no rules.

Instagram: Joey Adamczyk...

Original slow shutter iPhone4 pic.
Artsy Instagram filtered pic.
So, this is mai friend Joey, he hurt his foot 7 months ago and hasn't skated the whole time. Okay, maybe twice, but that was just to roll around to get rid of the withdrawal symptoms.
Skateboarding is like a drug in that sense.
He's just been playing a lot moar guitar, working to keep occupied, and fill the no skate void.

We planned this big group to go to Cream City todei to, kind of, celebrate his return to skateboarding.
Wouldn't you do the same for you friend?
Welcome Back, Joey.
Joey rides for Character Skateboards and Wellborn Clothing.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "20 Eyes" by Misfits from the album "Walk Among Us" released in 1982.

Today's TIme Capsule: Straitjacket Fits - All That That Brings...

So, back in the early 90's whilst attending St. Charles High School (there was no east or north back then) in beatutiful St. Charles, IL. 60174 I used to listen to this band's cassette that featured this song. It was released on Rough Trade records. I had become addicted to the label after hearing "feedtime + suction" by the band Feedtime, and even more after going to the Rough Trade store in San Francisco back in 1991.
It was much like my addiction to Touch & Go, Sub Pop Records, and Wax Trax! Records.
To this dei I still get chills while listening to this song. I hope you enjoy it, even if only a small percentage.

Antagon - Bird Brain...

So, I've been addicted to this track lately. It's from the compilation "Psytraveller vol.2" a 45 track (3 Disc) compilation CD released by, please go czech them out if you're into this track, or just curious.
You can also find a link to Psytraveller via the "Psychedelic Traveller" banner link, if you scroll down, on the right side of this page. (underneath mai Amazon wishlist)

I love listening to it while commuting back home from work on the train.

What's Grosser Than Gross???

Two vampires fight over a bloody Kotex®.
(I was told that joke when I was like 9 years old)

Today's Time Capsule: Ozric Tentacles...

So, back in like 1996-'97 I found out about this band by reading interviews of mai favorite Goa Psychedelic Trance artists (Doof, Hallucinogen, etc.) and almost every time the name Ozric Tentacles came up as either an influence or music that they're into at the moment. Also, I found out that two of the members were the band Eat Static, so that made me want to search for albums by "The Ozrics" even moar.
I've heard some Eat Static tracks on various Goa/Psy compilations and even owned a copy of "Epsylon"at the time, but had no clue about their other group.
This track is one of mai faves especially the breakdown in the middle and right where it picks up again.

I had the chance to see this band back in like 2005 at The Abbey Pub in Chicago, but ended up not going because I didn't know anyone else that was going or that even wanted to go, and I didn't wanna go by myself. My loss.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Rag"by Shudder To Think from the album "Ten Spot" released in 1990 on Dischord Records.
(Ten Spot came as a bonus on the CD for Funeral at the Movies)

Friendly's: Heidi's High 5 Quest...

So, I stumbled across this restaurant, Friendly's, just now when I randomly typed "friendly" into Google.
Now I wanna take a road trip to Ohio to go eat at one, maybe get a kewl High 5 after I order a Honey BBQ SuperMelt® Sandwich (from the $9.99 create your own meal menu) or maybe the Sweet & Spicy Grilled Shrimp✝ entrée (from the under 555 calories menu) since I am "trying" to lose weight.

BTW: czech oat the ice cream flavours you get to pick from to make your sundae with... soembody get me a drool bib.

Night Of The Living Rednecks...

So, I came across that truck that Jello Biafra talked about in the song "The Night Of The Living Rednecks" off of the album "Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death" released in 1987 on Alternative Tentacles.

Lou Shields Art: drawing of iSapien1956672

Today's Time Capsule: Lunar Plexus - Ugglor I Mossen...

So, I used to crank the living shit out of this track back in like 1998, I forgot about it, and thinking back, I don't think I've listened to it for, at least, 9 years.
This whole compilation Izz Da Ish!!!

It's called "Tales From The Forest" and was released on Spirit Zone Records out of Germany.
Sadly, Spirit Zone shut its doors in 2005.
It's really quite sad, as they put out soem killer choons throughout the their years of business.

Skateboarding: Michael Patterson...

So, I'm not gunna tell you when it is, but he does a wicked looking Swinch Boardrail Tre-Bozo out...
Soemtimes he skates slow and some of his tricks are KNDA tic-tac'd out of, but they are still pretty dope trickx.
Peace, Two Fingaz!
The track in the video is "Alter of Sacrifice" by Slayer from the album "Reign In Blood" released in 1986.

My Friend Frog @ Desert West...

Jeff Foxworthy: Rave Whore...

So, I think Jeff Foxworthy would prolly gain a wider audience if he embraced underground culture as much as he did 5th graders.

As of the end of this post I am listening to "Surf Mars" by Rip Van Hippy from the album "Waking Up Is Hard To Do" (<---MP3's) released in 1997 on Psy-Harmonics records.
You should czech oat their MySpace and Facebook pages.

Tempe Skater: Backside Disaster...

Chicago, Arizona, Modelo...

Sluts On Halloween...

So, this chick has soem pretty funny videos, and this one is actually very hlarious.
I wonder if she is part of soem comedy group, does stand-up?
It seems like she'd be a blast to have around, with that positive attitude, making jokes.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Barbells" by X-Cops from the album "You Have The Right To Remain Silent..." released in 1995. (Mine is a promo and is in a cardboard sleeve)
DWNLD here or here

Old Man Army: What Are You Skating This Weekend...

Instagram: Self Portrait...

So, this is a self portrait photo of me that I took Fridei morning on the train on the way to work using Instagram.

Halloween: Strip-O-Lantern...

So, a friend of mine on Facebook posted this pic of a pumpkin that soemone carved into a stirpper bending over spreading her cheeks, thongs to the side, with $1 bills in the string.
Looks almost TOO lifelike.

Instagram: Thug Life©...

So, I saw this on the Platform 3 at the La Fox Metra station the other dei, that's shit's copyright, YO!

Instagram: I See Faces...

Instagram: Money Is Dead...

So, I take this lil piece of graffiti art as "money is dead."

So, this time next week I'll prolly be trying to get a carve in this bowl, you see, I'm going to tizona, whoops, meant to write Arizona, not Tizona. (song by Metalium)
Anyway, I'll be out in ARIZONA for mai annual trip to visit mai friends Frog & Joy. Been doing this trip for the past 10 years since they moved there.
Maybe get a cameo in an upcoming GochTV edit, finally meet Manx, and skate a ton of dope parks as well as seeing soem DBN boiz.
PLUSSSSSSSSS!!! There's this Chicken & Waffle joint that serves Kool-Aid in huge mason jars.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Hide The Hamster" by Dayglo Abortions from the album "Here Today, Guano Tomorrow" released in 1988.

One Of The Best Comedy Acts Of The Year: Guns N' Roses...

So, am I the only one wondering WTF happened to this dewd? I don't know waht KNDA jungle he thinks he's in, but it must be one with huge ripened bananas.
Either that or he's lost in the magickal world of dancing bananas in pajamas.
I gotta say that I do prefer him in this outfit than that basketball jersey and cornrows getup that he sported a few years ago with those huger blown-out coke nostrils.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Severe Attack of the Truth" by Mega City Four from the album "The Peel Sessions" released in 1993.

Skater boiz...

So, I saw these dewdz chillin in front of OTC in Chicago while walking from work to the train. I gave them soem of Mai "it's not a handle" buttons a few "R U 4 SRSLY" and one "PWND," I think they were stoked.
I got a brewdog, and a slice of 'za for the ride home and they were on the saem train.
They reminded me of Mai friends and I when we would take the train in to the city to shred. One of those friends being Steve, who owns Yeah! Boardshop in Bartlett, IL.

They were okay kids from waht I could tell. There was the loud one who made noises and dumb jokes, the quiet one who just chilled to (I wanna think) Slayer in his headphones, and the moderator who wanted them to use their inside voices. I hope they keep skating, and I get to ride with them soemday. Maybe at Wilson.

Tony Trujillo Autograph...

So, Tony was stoked when I asked him to sign this. They rolled up to Wilson at night during the first KOTR.
I introduced myself stating that I was friends with Jackson Taylor, because he stayed with him the previous visit when we took them to Club Foot and Gerwer got a bobo in the stall.
