Scott Gall Noseslide Shuvit...
So, this was taken with mai new Olloclip that I got from the Apple store for $69.95, turning mai iPhone into a Fish-iPhone.
It's a Fish-Eye on one side, flip it around and it's Wide-Angle lens, unscrew the Wide lens and now you have a Macro lens for super up-close photos. Perfect for floral, insect, or food shots.

Vagrant Skates: Donovan Rice...
So, I first met this kid in 2003 at Wilson in Chicago, IL.
He was visiting his Grandparents in Wisconsin, and heard there was a park in Chicago so he got a ride down. He noticed I was riding a Terror deck [the Fang cover] and we stroked up a conversation.
Always great to skate with him in person at 4 Seasons skatepark in Milwaukee, WI.
The Ender in this video is insanuous!!!

Help Rebuild Thornside...
So, a few years ago mai friend Gordon found this spot in Chicago and poured soem crete on a tilted jersey, one dei last fall I helped him form and pour the tranny on the back wall with the marble top, along with Joe Olenik.
Since then it has grown and been used, but nobody wants to help with the upkeep, so I'm asking you, mai fellow DIYers to lend a few bones to this project, so we may continue to have a shaded place to skate, and a dry one when it rains.
If you can find it in your skate-heart, please use the donate box at the top left of the page to help fund anything, any little bit counts. You can also contact through the email on the picture.
All money collected through here will be given to the project, please specify in box when donating that your money is for "Thornside."
many thanks to the younger generation of Wilson Warriors for keeping the flame lit.

Silas Baxter Neal...
So, I was on the Sleestak site in one of their forums and soem dewd posted this *pic in a comment box of SiBax
doing a Gap to Backside Lipslide, or G2BSLS if you talk that way. Most people just prolly say Gap to Back lip though.
Silas was living in the Chicago area out in Schaumburg
for a bit, but then moved closer to the city. I think his GF / Wife was going to school or soem ish in Illinois.
He's an amazing skater to watch, I had the pleasure of being able to snake him on more than one occasion at the Wilson park in Chicago. I dunno if it bothered him or if he didn't mind.
My guess is that he liked it because it made him feel moar alive, that and the fact that I was one of the few skating and not sitting down gawking like most of the people at the park.
It's weird a dude like Silas
will just show up at random and everybody sits down, watches him, and doesn't bother him. But... if were to show up during a demo he'd be hounded for his board, stickers, shoes, autograph and not be given any room to skate.
I've seen it happen when Jake Phelps and Julien Stranger
showed out of nowhere in a Subaru Outback
or when Trujillo
and his King of the Road
team came through in 2003 the kids just sit down and watched how you're supposed to skate.
During a demo I've seen Koston
have like a sidewalk width to skate, Greco
never even got outta the car one.
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "I Am Abomination
" by Exodus
from the album "Shovel Headed Kill Machine
" released in 2005.
*(pic is from the transworld skateboarding magazine
website)

Broz...
So, I'm cruising around in mai A4 in the city of Chicago after the Hometown Heroes thingy over at Wilson Skatepark, just trying to kill soem time before I head on over to see The Bermondsey Joyriders at Rock Box.
Which when I was talking to Steve Godoy I was telling him that I had just made soem buttons for Danny over at Factory 13, and Steve says "oh, I'm wearing one" and pulls on his vest to show me the the F13 button I had just made weeks earlier. He and Danny are friends and band mates in band The Last of the Bad Men with Steve's twin brother Art, a cool guy named Justin, and Deniz Tek from Radio Birdman. I was shocked and honoured. Hopefully I can do buttons for the Joyriders soemdei.
Anyway, while I'm sitting in mai car getting mai iPod ready for brain stimulation and a nice walk, I see this car of Bros. Now get this, the plate actually says "BROZ 3" on it. Bros just cruzin' for chix in Lincoln Park on a Saturdei night...
Luckily I had mai trusty new cammy on hand to capture life's most random moments, it's like life is on shuffle and I'm the 4th generation click wheel with a monotone screen.
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Absolute Power" by Gospel Of The Horns from the album "A Call To Arms" released in 2002.

Chillin' On Tha Ill Tip...

So, on Friday the 2nd of April 2010 I came in to the Chi (pronounced "shy", not Chee or Chai, which is pronounced Ch-eye, not K-eye) to hang with soem bros and deliver soem 350 buttons for Metal Cakes.
I met Gordon & his daughter over at Delicious Cafe for tea (Yerba maté) and a S'mores muffin before leaving to go skate Wilson. The wind was pretty windy, but a lot of the people didn't seem to mindy.
After shredding for a few hours and painting a kitty cat & and alien abduction scene on Gordon's daughter's board, I had to go back to Delicious Cafe to meet up with Kathy from Metal Cakes to delivery said buttons. All went well and I had scone to go, and a coconut fizz. If you added 2 shots of Parrot Bay in that drink it would've been boss.
Then, I left to meet with the owner of Wellborn Clothing about soem new buttons, and just business in general, over some tofu Pad Thai & Pad Se Eu at Penny's in Wicked Park.
This was a landmark dei, the temperature, attittude and mai largest button order to date all set the stage for the night.
Everyone was about, we rolled the scene grabbing a few coffees and running into old heads along the way.
Paul, Rasa, Alison, Anna, Kelli. They were basking in the nightlife with a glow brighter than the amber luminescence of the urban tiki torches that line the streets. (streetlights?)
Upon further investigation of the Flat Iron friday art walk, we walked the maze of brush strokes, smiles, sculptures, resin and moar friendly faces. Marfa ran into his screen printer who, it turns out, has his studio set up in the old funeral home I once called home for 2 years. Small world.
As with all things, unfortunately the good too, they must come to an end. Settling our ambition for another night, for there are plenty to come, when we'll encroach the burgeoning scene once moar with the saem good vibes and warm hearts that were set in motion on that night.
I love Chicago.
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Sophisticated HIgh" by DJ Ellis Dee from the album "Sophisticated High" released in, I'm guessing, 1995-96 due to the track listing. Which has tracks from "Oceanic" by Cosmosis, "Cosmic Courier" by Mindfield, "Ganesh" by Sheyba, and "Sleepless" by Razor's Edge.
The Mindfield track being the youngest, I'm gunna say 1996. (sitation needed)
Ooh Ooh Ooh, "Future Space Travellers" by Prana & Athena just came on in the mix!!!

Quickpost this image to Myspace, Digg, Facebook, and others! As of the end of this post I am currently listening to the birds singing as they wake up outside, unlike in Chicago, the birds actually go to sleep at night and wake up around 4:30 in the a.m. because it actually gets dark at night. Just one of the other things the city makes you forget.
