Skateboard Contest Results...

So, here is a glimpse into the late 80's / early 90's results of a contest featuring the top skateboarders at the time.
Don't know waht year this is from or waht magazine, maybe Poweredge? I'm judging it by the board shapes and the results.
Click on the photo for the full.

  1. Mark Heinzman (I think it's Heintzman)
  2. Tom Knox
  3. Jesse Neuhaus (Chicago's very own)
Freetstyle (if you're familiar with the movie Thrashin', you'll know it's a memory)
  1. Joe Humeres
  2. Seam Coons
  3. Cameron Martin
Ramp (aka: Vert)
  1. Blaize Blouin (RIP)
  2. Jeff Hedges aka: Ffej
  3. Mike Speranzo

Tony Hawk, Headaches...

So, have you ever had a headache? Well, Tony Hawk tells you a quick, sure fire way to curb that buzzkill. He was helping young skaters cope with healthy alternatives way back in 1986.

Energy drinx and Sodas just dehydrate you even moar and have serious crashing effects from the sugar buzz. Yogi® Tea has soem great green tea options, if you wanna try.
Way better than others I've tried, don't even waste your time with Lipton.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Alien Rape" by Piledriver from the album "Metal Inquistition" released in 1985.

Thrashin'...

So, here's a nice little rip from an old Transworld Skateboarding magazine from, I'm guessing, 1986 due to the review of Thrashin' and the Chicago Blowout contest.
Thrashin' has to be one of the best skate movies of all time, it PWNs all over that Lords of Dogtown movie. In mai opinion it's the only teen sport du jour-love-drama that they [Hollywood] got right, it has just the right elements of Cheese and Reality with soem really dope tunes to accompany by soem really great band back when they were good. (i.e. Red Hot Chili Smokers)

The Chicago Blowout contest, I remember, happened when I was in 6th grade and we were all stoked on Chicago getting recognized for a national event for our ghea little activity. I even had a T-Shirt for it even though I never went, I got it at this bike shop called Sundance Cyclery in Bloomingdale, IL. because the contest was also part of VSW, so they had shirts for it.
Much like your [I'm] Grateful [he's] Dead 1977 tour shirt.

It's great to find these things that you tore out and hung on your wall as a grommet.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Lollipop Man/Nightflyte" by "Union Jack/Somnambulist" from the mix CD "Psychotrance" released in 1994, mixed by Mr. C from the group The Shamen.
The reason that there are two tracks is because his mix is so fluid and he'll play tracks with each other forever, it's hard to place a track mark. So they just placed track marks every 4 minutes.

Notes From The Underground...

So, the year was 1990, the magazine was Thrasher, and the article was "Notes From The Underground" and waht great notes they were. I mean the list of bands was at such a zenith back then and tops anything that is out todei.
Click on the image to read about bands such as White Zombie recording a demo with Foetus, Maiden touring with Anthrax, Nirvana doing a split 7" with Sonic Youth and many other jaw dropping items of news that make you wish they finish inventing that time machine already.
Just don't sleep with your Mom, Aunt or Cousin when they do.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Hey You" by The Godz from the album "Mongolians" released in 1987. The band is originally from Columbus, OH.

Osama Bin Laden vs. Lando...

So, I just made a shirt out of a design that I came up with back in 2001 after 9-11.
I had the idea for "Osama Bin Lando" and had mai friend/coworker make it a reality with photoshop.
It's just been sitting on our computors for the last 10 years until the news broke last night about the capture & death of, OG true Player and game runner, OBL.

You can find the shirt here Osama from Zazzle.com, you can also pick your style of shirt, sweatshirt, or muscle T. (for maximum Eddieness)

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Murder Cycle" by Holocross from the album "Holocross" released in 1988 on New Renaissance records.
