So, if you're an old fart skate Barney, like me, then chances are you know who Andy Howell is.
If you're a new school Flat Belly and into Tosh Townend, Ed Templeton and Bam, the chances are you know New Deal and Element Skateboards.
Plus, we've all prolly watched at least one 411 Video Magazine.
The connection? Andy Howell, and I've been a fan of his since he rode for Schmitt Stix.
This is the actual pic I had on mai wall as a pubey 14 year old. (above)
This guy has been such an integral part of modern street skateboarding in terms of style, tricks, and fashion.
The big pants, the graffiti look, the street tricks, skating swinch, all the brain child Andy Howell all back in 1990.
Since 2007 he's been the creator and driving force behind Artsprojekt, a place where underground artists can all be showcased together in one place and have their work made available to the public on any number of things from casual Shoes to Shirts and even professional Letterheads to iPhone cases.
He's come a long way from just riding his useless wooden toy and you should go czech oat waht he's been up to, show your support and thank him. Once you read his resume you'll shit at how behind the scenes this once dirty skate rat really is, and may even give you hope or strive harder.
As of the and of this post I am currently listening to "In This World" by The Odd Numbers from the personal compilation I made called "Gone Skating" it originally appears on the album "About Time" released in 1990 by a damn good trio of musicians from San Jose, CA.
