So, this company Odd Machine is located right under me in the new building I moved into. I had the pleasure of meeting one of their photographers the day I moved in.
Real great guy, gave me a short tour and said to stop in any time if I wanted to see what they do or just hang out.
So, I have been putting Twitter boxes on all of my Social pages to keep up on Social graces. Well, todei I went to put one on my Myspace music page and there was this email (pictured above), I guess I blew it, because I could have prolly blown up had I kept up with the times, technology, and my playing in general. Damn skateboard. I might have taken up the offer if I hadn't been out of the scene for 5 years, and kept at it religiously. As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Accumulate" by Secret Society from the compilation "The World of Rave (Disc 2)" released in 1996. I could not find a video for this song, but he does have another track on Disc 2 of the compilation "Welcome to the Technodrome Vol.4" called "Hypnotize"
So, what about the muh fuh kids? Spencer ?????????? WJ20 The Kids 4/19/94 This day sounds like the month and the year when combined. The more things change the more they stay the same. I like to watch the kids in the Hall on comedy central at eight o'clock during the week. may I quote a line "have you turned the boy into a fag yet." These guys are funny youshould watch them sometime they're funny. Okay, here we have Mr. Runon writing a paper again. You should read the last line over like four more times. Cool, eh? This is one of those journals that I think I just wrote something down so I could say that I did a journal. I prolly had stuff to draw in my notebook or something, who knows. As of the end of this post I am currently listening to another cassette tape with no label that I had found in my Mom's's basement around 9 this morning. This one is of some old techno/trance stuff I had made around 1997-98. It is so great to come across stuff like this to help depress you as to why you ever stopped making music, even though it was being made as I taught myself how to sequence using a workstation keyboard instead of tracking everything live on tape or ADAT, I had the LX20. I just wonder what would I be making if I hadn't stopped. I've been out of it for almost ten years now. I went by SFM or Astrolab.
So, I don't know if the 7 of you knew this or not, but I used to write music on my synthesizers. I once was in the group Cruciform Injection and played Guitars & Keyboards for them from 1998-2003.
From going to clubs and handing out demos we met a guy named Wintre Laake. He liked our sound and liked what I could come up with on the Synthesizer.
Wintre opened up for us at one of our Halloween shows doing spoken word while I did live improvisational Synth accompany behind him, on my JD-800. Real spooky ethereal stuff on that synth.
The opening lines were this satanic chant all in Latin, which contained something like "In Nomine Dei Nostri Satanas Luciferi Excelsi" It was a charge, man.
The JD-800 can almost hit the brown note, I swear, and in a split second drop of a slider, make it scream like a banshee. Anyway, Wintre liked the sound of my live Improv and asked me to work with him on a project. We worked on some songs, one of which he made into a video. This being the video above.
I also wrote another song for us and it turned out he had written some words that fit the tune perfectly in timing, the song was called "Lora Cum Loude."
One he liked it so much that he sent it around to some people to hear it, and said that one person had gotten back to him about the song and saying "it would be perfect for the upcoming Tomb Raider Soundtrack."
I dragged my feet on finishing the song and ultimately never made it by the deadline.
I was working this print shop job that had me up at 5am and home by 6pm, so artistic creativity & sitting in my Studio for hours was the last thing on my mind at the end of the day.
I still have all the original Mini-Discs of the material and prolly have all the 3.5" disks for the workstation synth with the raw files on them. Plus, I recently came across some old MP3's on my old computer from 1999, that's about the time that the song above dates from, or should I say, "this song is circa 1999?"
By the time of the ending of this post I am currently listening to "Over The Edge" by Underdog from the album "Vanishing Point" 1989 side note: (chuck treece played on this album)
