Bacon Grease Ginger Snaps? Oh Snap...
So, you should go ahead and make yourself a pound of Bacon to snack on while these babies are baking in th'oven. Oh, Beety Dubs, this is an original recipe from my great-grandmother Bessie Allen. Hopefully this is soemthing you'll be cotton to.
Ginger Snaps:
1 Cup Bacon drippings (trust me)
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Eggs
6 Tbsp Molasses
3 Cups Flour
2 1/2 tsp Soda
3/4 tsp Cloves (not the cigarette)
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp Ginger
Cream the drippings and Sugar thoroughly.
Add Eggs and Molasses and beat until smooth.
Add Flour, Soda and Spices.
Chill dough for two hours.
Roll into 1" (inch) balls and roll in Sugar.
Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350* until lightly brown and tops begin to crack.
Speaking of Crack, you'll be addicted to these like Crack.

Brown Sugar, You Taste So Good...

So, it being the holiday season for eating sweets and getting drunk and fat and all that junk. I figured I would give you soem old family recipe of mine to cook for that NYE party or post NYE brunch, in which case it would be a New Years Brunch, right? Hell go ahead and throw a party for Santa's Birthday. He would have been 1764 this year. Wahtewer you do, wahtewer your faith, I'm sure you have soem sort of trad that you practice, or have down to a science, to keep hope alive and spirits up, tipped and flowing. Whether you go to take brandy in your Egg Nog wearing soem gross blinking sweater or feed the reindeer Amanita Muscaria and drink their urine and have an out-of-body experience to bring Holiday Cheer, I'm sure eating one ov these butes will make you gargle in your sleep under the coffee table.
Brown Sugar Cookies:
1 cup Brown Sugar
2/3 cup Shortening
2 eggs
5 Tbsp Cream or canned Milk
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Baking POWDER
1/2 tsp Soda
2 1/2 cups Flour
Mix Brown Sugar, Shortening and Eggs until light.
Add Salt and Vanilla.
Sift Flour, Baking Powder and Soda together.
Gradually add to Sugar mixture and blend well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350* until lightly browned.
Frost when cool.
FROSTING:
2 Tbsp shortening
3/4 box Powdered Sugar Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Cream Shortening and Sugar.
Add enough Milk to make a spreading consistency.
Add Vanilla
Well, there you have it. You can play with the amounts to make your own likeness to flavor. This recipe is by no means Vegan. You, however, can take the appropriate steps to exchange ingredients and make a Vegan treat.
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Cradle to Enslave" by S-Cube from an unknown album. I DWNLD'd this from Beatbiz back on Thursday, July 20th, 2006.

Awe Crepes! No Scurvy For Me, Thank You...
So, were you think of maybe someday making breakfast for your sweety? Well, here is a recipe for Orange Crepes with Fruit Filling. The recipe is from the Florida Department of Citrus and Chef Scott Uehlein of Canyon Ranch.
Start with the ingredients for the Crepes:
4 Eggs
3/4 Cup Orange Juice (I personally would use tropicana not from concentrate)
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
7 Generous Tablespoons of Flour
Now for the Fruit Filling:
1 Cup Fresh Blueberries
1 Cup Fresh Raspberries
1 Cup Fresh Quartered Strawberries
1 Cup Fresh Blackberries
Powdered Sugar is Optional.
Directions:
In a blender container, place eggs, orange juice, sugar and salt. Cover and pulse 15 seconds until combined.
While blender is on, add flour one Tablespoon at a time until blended well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Melt 1/2 Tablespoon butter in a 10" nonstick saute pan. Pour 3 Tablespoons of batter into the pan and swirl around to coat the bottom of the pan evenly. Cook until edges are nice and brown and middle is firm to the touch. Loosen edges and flip crepe and cool for approximately 15 seconds. Slide out of pan onto plate, cover with foil while continuing to make crepes with remaining batter.
In a medium bowl, combine fruit with 1 Tablespoon of sugar. Using a fork, crush the berries slightly to allow the juices to come out.
Place 2 crepes on a plate. Ladle 1/4 cup of the fruit mixture on one side of each crepe and roll crepe over the fruit. Garnish with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve immediately.

I did not write this one, I copied it directly from a recipe card that we printed at my old job. It looked so good that I took one that was cut crooked home with me in the hopes of making it someday for my sweety, now I may have that chance.
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Departure" by Jeff Loomis from the album "Zero Order Phase", 2008. He tried out for Megadeth in 1987 but was too young.

Rep the Chai...
Spencer Slappie Trick Tip - SuchLuck.com from Such Luck on Vimeo.
So, like in October or something, I'm guessing because I'm wearing & riding the same set-up as in that video. Here we skate a place that I came across while we were DWNTWN by the rotting meat & dead fish smell district. Red 4 daze, yo! Soooooo perf! You also get to see pretty trains go by, like the Superliner by Amtrak and Metra trains, some that go to Elgin. Perty kewl eh? No? Yeah didn't think so. My blog is a joke & I don't take skateboarding SRSLY. This is how I "rep da Chi", that's pronounced (Shy) not (Chee) or (Chai) although I have been known to rep some Chai B4, it's like sooo yummerz. Even more yummerz than a MexicAlt Fixie Bear.
Try this:
Boil 5 minutes, then steep 10 minutes:
1 Tbsp fennel or anise seed
6 green cardamom pods
12 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1/4" ginger root, sliced thin
1/4 tsp black pepper corns
2 bay leaves
7 Cups water
Add, bring to a boil, and simmer 5 minutes:
2 Tbsp Darjeeling tea
Add:
6 Tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 Cup milk
Yummerz, roit?
