Henry Rollins: The One Decision That Changed My Life Forever...

So, I just stumbled across this video, and let me tell you, it is the most eye-opening, self-awarenessing, stick-to-your-guns, follow-your-dreams, video I've watched.

Straight-to-the-point no bullshit, no fancy words.
"Sit down, shut up, and learn"

Don't let anyone try to bring you down because you're quiet and observe and only talk when you have something to say. Their own insecurities is what makes them uncomfortable when you don't speak, because they're too busy listening to their own voice. (at least that's the part that spoke to me)

Alex Soto: Frontside Bluntslide...

So, here's Alex Soto with a Front Blunt at the 2nd annual Stoopid contest in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago. The contest is so named because it's held on the "Stoop" of the house of the people who put on the contest.
There were prizes from Character Skateboards, the Beerics, and Prosper Skateshop to name a few.
Real DIY skateboarding for fun only.

So, I've seen this kid, Mike Piwowar, around Chicago for years, never talked to him or hung out with him, but we know each other as skaters with some mutual friends.

Free Lunch: Neen Williams...

So, here's a kid I first met around 2000 at the LaGrange YMCA in LaGrange, Illinois, Neen Williams.
One memory I have of hanging with him was back in like 2002-'03, we were at this skate house and the only two up at like 8 in the morning, everyone else was sleeping, so we cruz'd to IHOP and had breakfast.
He would call me to go skate sometimes during weekday afternoons, but I had a 9-5 and could never meet up, now look at him.

Death Skateboards: Ordinary Madness, Patrick Melcher...

So, here's a video part from an old friend, Patrick Melcher, from the Rockford, Illinois area who I officially met back in 1996, and it turned out, after talking during our initial introduction, that I'd been skating with his mentor since 1988.
