When I woke up and went to go walk the dog (AJ) I opened the garage door to this (above). It wasn't that deep directly in front of the door as you can see, but that two crested snow wave is about 30" deep, if not moar.
I had to dig a path to the tree just so AJ could get to it. He's only 2 years old and has never seen snow like this, he didn't know waht to do, he KNDA just stared at it and hopped around like "how do I get outta here, over this?"
Here's another view of the front yard. The peak of that snow drift with the branches sticking out is about 36" deep and I had to shovel through it, by hand, to get to the front door. Fun Stuff.
It [the Sun] melted the excess snow on the front step and evaporated it up all dry real nice like.
I spoke with a friend in Los Angeles todei who was actually wishing to be back, and missed the snow. Don't worry, there'll be other blizzards in your future to live through.
Me personally, I remember the 1979 and 1999 snow storms.
I remember in 1979 the snow drifted so high that there was about an 8" gap of light peeking through the top of our bay window on the back of the house, and the drifts at the house of our babysitter went straight up to the roof of their garage and we were sledding off the roof, down the drift and then down their hill in the back yard. Fun Stuff.
In 1999 we went to this NYE rave at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. and driving home was KNDA brutal, but we cut right through it with mai 1996 Audi A4 Quattro.
When I got back home I literally watched the snow accumulate in the window well about 20 inches.
The snow in 1999 was a wetter, heavier snow than the snow of last night.
Last night's snow storm was a combination of wind and snow. It was a sweet pow pow dust blowing around at 20 - 40 mph.
Perfect for hitting the slopes for this week, bro brah!!!
As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Velodrome" by Richard H. Kirk from the album "Virtual State" released in 1993.
It has mixtures of Ambient, Chillout, Downtempo, Ethnic, and Dub.
Richard used to be the groups Cabaret Voltaire and Hope & Kirk, as well as his many solo projects*, like:
