Freeling...
Published on Jun 14, 2012 by UnanimousFilms
Andrew Lovgren presents a documentary about the free feeling of skateboarding.
Get out of the box and go skate.
Award winning for Best Documentary and Best Cinematography at the Student Television Network Nationals.
Best Documentary at the eMagine Film Festival.
Best Documentary at the Focus Film Festival.
When I started Freeling a year ago, my main goal was to inspire people to be better than themselves. This film isn't just about skateboarding, it's about being strong enough to go against the current. In order to do great things, you must "get out of the box" and go for it. This film is my way of saying, skateboarding has shaped me into the kid that did that exactly. Enjoy the film and I hope everyone, one day, will see the bigger picture. Thank you.

Uprise Skateshop: sUprise - Skateboarding In The Streets vol.1...
Suprise (Skateboarding in the streets Vol.1) from Uprise on Vimeo.
So, here's an old video that Uprise skateshop put out in like 2001/02ish, IDK all I know is that it was before 2003 because there is no Wilson footage and everyone is wearing baggy cargo pants and (at times) soem god-awful huge shoes. {oh skateboard trends} I guess it's better than soem ball-high Skate Rags that were popular in the early 80's.
Marfa from Wellborn Clothing has a part in this video skating to soem Chicago punkers, Pegboy @ 11:06. ("finger to fakie" photo: Chris Anderson)
Ryan Walters skates so fast in real life, and the Ollie footplant kickflip, I can only imagine, was done hauling balls @ 14:43.
Stu Jacobs does a nice Cab over a pyramid hip to Mötley Crüe @4:18.
Jackson Hennessey is a just a lil short-haired boy in here, and now he's a grown-ass married man with a kid, long hair, and still ripping when the board is under his feet.
Also, there is a teeny weeny Neen(y) Williams skating under his given name, Eugene.
If I remember correct, they cut Jesse Neuhaus' part out of the video at the last second for soem reason. I think it was because Jesse had a friend of his film his clips, and not the Uprise filmer.
I guess it was in the video at the premiere, but not on the final release.

R.I.P. Ward Cramer...
Uploaded by sk8zoo on Jun 27, 2010
So, I just got the news that another fellow skateboarder and Midwest ripper, Ward Cramer, has been taken away from us too early. You can see him in these videos from 1980 at the Endless Summer skatepark in Michigan.
Uploaded by sk8zoo on Jun 27, 2010
He rode for such companies as Gullwing Trucks, G&S skateboards, Timz Skateboards, Character Skateboards, American Nomad Skateboards, and lived in places like Detroit, Chicago and Louisville.
He was only in his late 40's.
47 I think.
I only skated with him a handful of times, but most of mai friends were good friends with him, and a few were childhood skate friends of his.
Forever sessioning the great skatepark in the sky.
The Concretins also have a tribute blog post about Ward.
I met a few of those dudes a few years ago out in AZ for an Old Man Army BBQ, and some rolled through Wilson in Chicago once.

Scott Gall Noseslide Shuvit...
So, this was taken with mai new Olloclip that I got from the Apple store for $69.95, turning mai iPhone into a Fish-iPhone.
It's a Fish-Eye on one side, flip it around and it's Wide-Angle lens, unscrew the Wide lens and now you have a Macro lens for super up-close photos. Perfect for floral, insect, or food shots.

Today's Time Capsule: Cosmosis - Cannabinoid...
So, how far can they control mai mind?
Cosmosis - 1996.
Most people often ask "when are you going to or why don't you, re-record 'Cosmology' since the technology has advanced so much?"
To me, this was produced so well with the technology at the time that it doesn't need to be redone. It's a timeless album much like Hallucinogen's "Twisted" (1995)
I wasn't that impressed with Miranda's "Rerecorded" album, though, the new versions were still good.
Today's Time Capsule: Cosmosis - Morphic Resonance...
So, I first heard this Cosmosis track in 1996 on the "Goa Spaceship 101" compilation and knew that I had just fallen in love with an artist. (in a purely audible heterosexual fan kind of way)
This was also the first Cosmosis track I had ever heard, too.
He wrote this far outside of the goa trance formula, sounded fresh at 3:00, and the sequelching acid at 3:31 made mai ears shiver that I wanted to play this track louder, but I couldn't because the car stereo was already maxed out.
16 years later I still listen to this with the saem enthusiasm.
