Good Ol'Boiz: Tim Armour...

So, this so this here is Tim Armour doing a back lip on the rail over the Junson at the park in Aurora. It was so hot that dudes were soaking they shirts and taking them off and ringing all the sweat out then letting them dry on the benches.
Let me just say that it's KNDA gross sitting back on one of them.

Good Ol'Boiz: Pat O'Brien...

So, here we have POB nose grinding at the new Aurora, IL. Park. I took the pic with instagram and put an effect on it.

Kitsch Skateboards: Brad Sheppard...

So, I first saw this video back in 2006, was so enamored by it that I tried contacting them to see if they would be interested in donating soem product for a skate night that soem of mai friends used to do every Thursdei at a bar in Chicago.
They would have a DJ playing skate rock, punk and metal, free giveaways, free old school fingerboards, Lowcards, Thrasher beer coozies, $2 PBR talls, $1 corn dogs, and 6 or 7 TVs all playing different videos from the 80's up into the 21st century. Every time I called Kitsch nobody answered.

I still go back and watch clip a few times each year because it's just so good and raw, the spot they skate are gnarly, you can hear how rough the ground is that he's riding on, especially the bricks.
His name is Brad Sheppard and this clip is from the video called Baby Steps from Kitsch Skateboards, a Canadian company.
I really like his BS180KF steez, the way he's so quick on his feet, and his quick land-then-ollie-again skills. I don't think he rides for them anymoar or if he still skates.
I found this old blog that hasn't been updated since 2009, but it's still cool to look through and see all the old footy and updates.
They will be featured in the new Late Summer 2011 issue of SBC Skateboard, Canada's National Skateboard Magazine. I bought one of these at a skateshop in Toronto back in 2001 a few blocks away from where I played a show with the band I was in at the time.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Turn To Dust" by Blood Feast from the album "Chopping Block Blues" released in 1989 on New Renaissance Records.
Real Speed Metal from the heart.

Help Rebuild Thornside...

So, a few years ago mai friend Gordon found this spot in Chicago and poured soem crete on a tilted jersey, one dei last fall I helped him form and pour the tranny on the back wall with the marble top, along with Joe Olenik.
Since then it has grown and been used, but nobody wants to help with the upkeep, so I'm asking you, mai fellow DIYers to lend a few bones to this project, so we may continue to have a shaded place to skate, and a dry one when it rains.
If you can find it in your skate-heart, please use the donate box at the top left of the page to help fund anything, any little bit counts. You can also contact through the email on the picture.
All money collected through here will be given to the project, please specify in box when donating that your money is for "Thornside."

many thanks to the younger generation of Wilson Warriors for keeping the flame lit.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Near Ya" by The Meices from the album "Greatest Bible Stories Ever Told" released in 1992 on Empty Records.

Today's Time Capsule, Neil Young...

So, I know soem of you reading this are fans of Neil Young, but did you know that this song if from one of the 3 albums he made in the 80's when he signed to Geffen records?
True story, he signed to Geffen, made these 3 albums and they were pissed off with this even though he fulfilled his end of the bargain and gave them 3 albums, they dropped him for "not sounding like Neil Young" and deliberately making records "unrepresentative" of his name.
Sounds like soem BS if you ask me.

He made Trans (1982) an 80's electro-induced vocoder-laden ode to Kraftwerk, Everybody's Rockin' (1983) a Rockabilly record, and one called Old Ways (1985) a Country record.

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Stereomatic (Stereomagic)" by Yamo from the album "Time Pie" released in 1997

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Ex-Lion Tamer" by Henrietta Collins and the Wifebeating Childhaters from the album "Drive By Shooting" released in 1986.

So here we have a lil trip down memory lane with the Dry Bones Nation, H.A.K.A.S. tour of 4th of July '08.

NYC Women Topless in Public...

Chick, czech it oaaaaaaaaaat.
"New York is a pretty cool place. We all know about the endless supply of renowned museums, and Central Park is like a magical (though overcrowded) forest, but did you know that since 1992 it has been legal for women to be topless in public? Admittedly, it is still rare to actually see a woman brave enough to do so--just because it's legal doesn't mean it's socially acceptable--but on these hot July days it’s getting more and more tempting." - Posted by: Ariana Anderson in Artsy

As of the end of this post I am currently listening to "Indebted" by Cooter from the "Disasrming Violence" compilation released in 2000.

Skate Healthy...

So, it's key to stay healthy when you skate, natural stamina from fruit (pineapple) and water rather than dehydrating synthetics like energy drinx and oatmeal cream pies.
